Ministry says Japan slaps sanctions against 57 Russians, 6 firms

TOKYO, Jul 5 (PRIME) -- Japan’s new sanctions list includes 57 Russian individuals and 6 legal entities, the state’s Foreign Ministry, Finance Ministry and the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry said in a joint statement on Tuesday.

The new sanctions cover Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Grigorenko, relatives of the core owner of steel producer Severstal Alexei Mordashov, defense system producer Almaz-Antey, and a number of information portals including SouthFront and Inforos.

Japan has also prohibited provision of services to Russia, including audit and consulting services, from September 5.

Japan banned exports to 90 Russian and Belarusian organizations, and also prohibited imports of Russian gold.
